Guests praise Hotel Kvarner for its outstanding service, beautiful location on the promenade, and delicious food, particularly the tableside steak tartar. The historic charm and elegant restoration are frequently highlighted as major draws. However, some visitors find the parking situation inconvenient and expensive, and a few mention a lack of 'extra charm' from staff, noting the hotel's 4-star rating versus its 5-star pricing.
"A truly lovely hotel in a perfect location. The service is outstanding. The rooms are really nice. The restaurant offers a good variety of delicious food. Especially the steak tartar is prepared at the table (table-side served) - which is unique here in Opatija. We are looking forward to coming back soon!"

"Amazing view from our room balcony. The hotel is very nice and the beach area is amazing. However, we had to go try to find parking in three different garages in town, that are very very expensive, no space at the hotel!!
The staff is not very helpful. Strict minimum! I actually had the front desk lady say to me “we are only a 4 star hotel” OMG! 🤦♀️ I was just asking her to call a restaurant for a reservation since my phone in the room was not working!
Missing that extra charm and effort from the staff. Otherwise it’s beautiful and breakfast is generous. A four star hotel that charges 5 star prices!!"
Alex Rusnov
"Should be a 5 star hotel. Love the way they tried to show case the historical past with a ‘mini’ museum in the hotel. Smack in the middle of the seaside promenade. Even more beautiful at night."
