"Great running tour from Mala Učka to the peak, the perfect way to start the day - even though I had once again no view onto the sea, because the clouds were hanging low."

"I really recommend the hike to the top if you are in the area. Come early in the morning if you visit during the hot summer months. If you don't want to walk through the wood, you can take the paved road up."

"Had an awesome time hiking up to Vojak in Istria with my family. The trail is easy to follow and semi-moderate for most people. You will walk in the shade almost all of the hike using stony paths. The views at the top are killer – stunning panoramas that make it all worth it. You will get an almost 360-degree view of the Adriatic Sea and the whole Istrian region. There's a little tower with some info about the area. To save your knees, take the asphalt road on the way down and, as a bonus, you will get more views of the Rijeka city and the Adriatic sea. Don’t forget your water and good shoes. Totally recommend this hike. If this review helped you, please give it a like."

Hiking to the Summit
For those seeking a less strenuous journey, an asphalt road allows for driving closer to the summit, significantly reducing the walking time. This option is ideal for families or individuals with mobility concerns. Regardless of your chosen path, the journey is characterized by shaded trails, offering respite from the sun, especially during the hot summer months. Remember to wear appropriate footwear and carry ample water.
Upon reaching the peak, the effort is rewarded with unparalleled vistas. The summit is crowned by a distinctive tower, which visitors can climb for an even more expansive, almost 360-degree view. This elevated perspective allows you to survey the entire Istrian region, the shimmering Adriatic Sea, and on exceptionally clear days, distant mountain ranges.
The Iconic Summit Tower
From the tower's observation deck, the views are simply spectacular. You can see across the entire Istrian peninsula, out to the numerous islands dotting the Adriatic, and towards the mainland. On clear days, the visibility extends far, offering glimpses of distant mountain ranges, a truly awe-inspiring sight. Inside the tower, you'll also find a small souvenir shop, offering a chance to take a memento of your visit.
It's important to note that while the park is free to access, there is typically a small fee to enter the tower itself. This fee contributes to the maintenance of the structure and ensures its continued accessibility for future visitors. Checking the operating hours for the tower is advisable, especially during the off-season, as they can vary.
Best Times for Clear Views
Clouds can sometimes hang low over the peak, obscuring the sea and distant horizons. Checking the weather forecast before your visit is highly advisable. If you're aiming for the most spectacular, unobstructed panoramas, look for days with clear skies and good visibility. Late morning visits can also yield good views, as seen in some visitor experiences.
Beyond the visual clarity, consider the time of day for photographic opportunities. Golden hour, during sunrise and sunset, can cast a magical light over the landscape, creating dramatic and memorable photos. However, be mindful of the park's accessibility and your own safety if visiting during twilight hours.
