"Okay so San Jose may not be for everyone. I get it. However if you've just got a day or two at the most in Costa Rica, or a layover in San Jose, you'll want to walk "Plaza de la Cultura."
Staying in the busy streets is safe. I don't recommend wandering off into any alleyways or side streets. But there's plenty to do lots of cafes, bars and restaurants. There are other tourists and a lot of locals. One gets the sense of the Costa Ricans, the sounds of a streets the vendors and to be honest if you're smiling they are too. Dusk from day to night, is interesting because of the parrots roosting in the trees, that essentially freak out, when the thousands of pigeons fly over them. It's quite a spectacle. This is at the main square, a nice place to have a beer play gaze upon society walking by."

BANGKOKBANKS

"Such and increidible museum, loved the butterfly section. Lovely collection and a good way to know more about Costa Rica."

Amanda Garcia

"Nice place to walk around as the National Theater and Gold Museum are right there."
