Reviews Summary

Playa Pelada is celebrated for its breathtaking sunsets and natural beauty, offering a more rugged experience than its neighbor, Playa Guiones. While ideal for surfers and photographers, visitors should be mindful of strong currents and the lack of shade. Dining options are available, with some beachside spots offering great views, and more budget-friendly choices inland.

"We came here primarily for the sunset, and it did not disappoint—it was absolutely breathtaking! Just to the left, you’ll find the water geyser, which is a fun spot for photos or even a quick shower. For swimming, though, I much preferred Playa Guiones, where the soft sandy bottom makes it easy to walk into the water. At Playa P, it gets steep pretty quickly, and there are lots of rocks on the right side of the geyser (the left side is much better).

Some of the locals surf here during high tide or when the waves are too rough at Playa Guiones, but we didn’t see many tourists doing the same. Speaking of surfing, we had an amazing time learning with Kim from Nosara Surf Academy—highly recommend him if you’re looking to catch some waves!

One thing to note: there’s barely any shade at Playa P. You can sit under the bushes, but that’s about it, so bringing a sun sail or umbrella is a good idea if you plan to stay for a while.

If you’re looking for a relaxing way to end the day, La Luna restaurant offers stunning sunset views and a cozy atmosphere.
Overall, a beautiful spot for sunset lovers!"

"Fantastic beach, stunning sunsets and great weather. The waves and currents can be a bit strong, great for surfers maybe daunting to families with little kids (Playa Guiones has calmer waters nearby).
The prices on the beach from can be a little high but head inland a bit and take the first let to Toñito's Bar, it's the cheapest and best in town."

"This beach is breathtaking at sunset! There’s also a restaurant called Olga’s that is only a few steps off of the beach. Greaaaat spot!"
