"Simply the best rafting we have ever done (and we have done quite a bit of that!)
Just WOW!! I actually like to congratulate the staff as their rafting adventures are very well done! First off, communication with the agency was smooth, questions were answered fast and we decided to explore two different rivers with them. We started with the Suarez rafting outing which was adrenaline packed, fun, and the river just stunning with lots of tropical vegetation. A hearty lunch was awaiting us with a cold beer before the drive back to their office. The following day we joined a rafting outing to the famous Chicamocha canyon which was totally different in vegetation, the large canyon got narrower and narrower, the lunch in a small village by the river was a great experience and the second part of the rafting trip (a total of 32 KM!) was quite challenging and therefore a ton of fun. We navigated serious rapids and felt very secure with our guide. Both guides on both days were very professional, the explanations were clear instructions were clear too. The drive back to the office was long and we arrived early in the evening but we knew that from the start and it was not a problem as the road was simply stunning. If you want some serious fun, are up for an adventure then definitely make sure to hop on board. We are glad we did both outings as they were so different from one another!"

"Absolutely amazing experience! We received a detailed instruction of all different cases, that could happen and practiced as well before starting the experience.
Our guide led us very well through the rapids and allowed also some crazy waves onto our boats without risking any dangerous situation. I felt safe and was very happy with the experience.
The ambiance between the guides is very positive and they collaborate very well.
After the rafting they gave as an amazing lunch (extra portion for vegetarians:-)) and we got back safe.
Muchísimas gracias a todos por esta linda experienca!"

"An amazing day. The instructors were brilliant with a thorough safety briefing and training we felt so safe despite some hectic rapids. 100% recommend this company. We were recommended them by a hostel owner who said ‘they might cost a little bit more but they’re the safest one in the area’."

The Thrill of Class V Rapids
Some sections, like the infamous 'El Zapato' rapid, are particularly notorious. While the thrill is undeniable, it's crucial to choose reputable operators who prioritize safety. Many travelers emphasize the thorough safety briefings and the professionalism of the guides, which instills confidence even when facing extreme conditions.
Be prepared for the possibility of capsizing. It's a common occurrence on these challenging rapids and part of the wild adventure. Guides are trained to manage these situations, and participants wear life vests, ensuring a safe return to the raft.
Choosing Your Adventure Operator
Look for operators with positive reviews that highlight their guides' expertise, clear communication, and commitment to safety. Checking their social media presence can also give you a feel for their style and the experiences they offer. Many provide comprehensive packages that include transportation, gear, and lunch.
When booking, confirm what's included in the price, especially regarding transportation to and from your accommodation. Some operators may not offer this full service, so it's good to clarify beforehand.
Beyond Rafting: Hydrospeeding
Hydrospeeding is generally recommended for individuals with moderate to good swimming abilities and a decent level of fitness, as it can be quite a workout. The fins provided can sometimes be a point of contention, with some users finding them less than ideal.
While it offers an incredible adrenaline rush and a different perspective on the rapids, it's important to note that it might not be for everyone. If you're looking for a more controlled group activity, traditional rafting might be a better fit. However, for the adventurous seeking a novel challenge, hydrospeeding is an excellent option.
