However, the difficult access and limited facilities are common points of consideration for potential visitors.
"20km Mountain Bike descent back to Salento from La Linea… after a great picnic in the living Wax Palm forest (as opposed to Cocora valley which is technically dying without any Parrots)"

"We cycled La Linea in the opposite direction with luggage. From the small village of Toche you have a climb of over 25 kilometers. The last 10 kilometers to the top are fantastically beautiful! It is more beautiful there than the Valle de Cocora: an incredible number of wax palms! Most people do this part downhill, but then you miss all that beauty. From the top we descended to Salento. That descent is not really special."

"On a mountain bike from Cajamarca to Salento. A challenging and enjoyable climb. Excellent experience. Beautiful scenery. How beautiful you are, Colombia."
