What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Meixi Royal Stone Archways and Chen Fang Residence to be a quiet and historically significant site, offering a glimpse into traditional Chinese architecture and family heritage. While the limited English explanations and moderate entrance fee are noted, the well-preserved structures and the unique calligraphy experience are highlights for many.
"It's a huge complex with moderate English explanation about the Chen Clan Family. Entrance is rather expensive at RMB65 for adults and RMB30 for students. However, it would be worth it if you know Mandarin. There was a calligraphy master at the compound when we visited. He did a calligraphy scroll for each of our names. The complex was quite empty with only a few families here and there."

"So quite and silent because not many visitors, but also good to know about Zhuhai heritage history."

"I visited in 2017, knowing that Chen Fang was my great-great-grandfather... Facinating to vist my ancestor's home! So much here that my family was unaware of here in USA. I wish I spoke Mandarin, as the English interpretive translations are few... still well worth the visit :-)"
