What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Shougang Park is widely praised as a brilliantly preserved and renovated industrial site, lauded for its mesmerizing fusion of industrial giants, nature, and modern Olympic structures. Visitors appreciate the comfortable walkways, peaceful vibes, and the clever reinterpretation of old factories into modern spaces, making it a cool and wonderful place to explore.
"Shougang Park is a brilliantly preserved and renovated industrial site that was once the beating heart of Shijingshan District, providing millions of people with stable factory jobs. In the 80s and 90s, many local households had at least one member working at Shougang, making it an integral part of the community's history and memory.
Today, the industrial park has been transformed into a public space with vast event and exhibition areas. You'll find plenty of snack shops and well-maintained public restrooms, perfect for a quick refreshment.
One standout feature is the Peet’s Coffee located in a repurposed old coke room. The drinks we tried were excellent—definitely a step above what you’d typically find at Peet’s in the U.S. It’s an entirely unique experience.
Overall, Shougang Park is an incredibly cool space filled with historical and industrial relics. Highly recommend visiting if you're in the area!"
