The integration of modern technology like AR and interactive screens is a highlight, making history feel immersive and engaging. While entry is free, booking tickets in advance is recommended.

"Lovely museum with lots of amazing artefacts. Loved seeing the horse-stepping-on-a-swallow bronze statue, but a bit of a shame that it was a replica and not the real thing - as with many of the treasures. Still worth your time it you’re in Lanzhou. The history is beautiful and fascinating."

Jamie Brown

"The provincial level museum that has many national treasury. The very iconic one is the Galloping Horse Treading on a Flying Swallow which was once the logo of China national tourist bureau. For most people completing the full tour will take three hours at least but definitely worth that time. Relics and antiques prove the history of Chinese culture back to 8000 years ago. Egypt is just the little brother compared to China history.
The only thing inconvenient for foreigners is you must reserve a ticket online in advance. Try to the ticket box and get a paper ticket by showing passport if you are unable to make the reservation."

"Free. Bring passport to be recorded. Opposite the big Lanzhou Center shopping mall. Most important exhibits are in the 2nd Floor - Silk Road History/ Buddhist Grottoes and Paleontological Section (Fossils)"
