"Taishan City Museum was founded with a donation of HK$3 million from Mr. Huang Bingli, a fellow Hong Konger. The foundation stone was laid on January 12, 1987 and the museum was completed and opened on April 2, 1988. [5] It is located in the Taicheng Cultural District, covers an area of ​​10,066 square meters and has a construction area of ​​2,586 square meters. [3]
In June 1986, the project was officially approved and the engineering command was established. In May 1992, when Taishan was abolished as a county and established as a city, it was renamed Taishan City Museum. [3]
As of the end of 2019, Taishan City Museum has 8,934 pieces/sets of collections and 423 pieces/sets of precious cultural relics. Taishan City Museum covers an area of ​​10,066 square meters, has a construction area of ​​2,586 square meters, and an exhibition area of ​​1,200 square meters. The museum, including the building, has a convex shape, is 55.2 meters wide and 37.7 meters deep, and is a reinforced concrete frame structure. The central part has three floors on the outside and two floors on the inside, with a double-hipped roof, and the two wings have two-story flat roofs. The building's front is expansive and expansive, showcasing traditional architectural style. It features columns, crab-roe brick walls, and a glazed tile roof. The winding pathways within the museum house a dazzling array of exhibits, complementing the elegant and refined decor of the exterior. The name "Taishan Museum" is inscribed on the door plaque by Qin Sheng, with the inscription below reading, "Donated by Mr. Huang Bingli, a fellow Hong Kong resident."

The entrance leads to the introductory hall, where a large world map displays red dots denoting the distribution of overseas Chinese from Taishan. A stele inscribed with the words "Taishan County Museum Inscription" by the Taishan County People's Government is embedded on the west wall. A symmetrical diagram on the east wall displays "Introductions to Provincial and Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Units in Taishan." Passing through the introductory hall, the center opens to a courtyard, where exhibition halls are symmetrically arranged on three sides, connected by corridors. Three halls on the first floor host temporary exhibitions, while three halls on the second floor serve as primary display rooms, showcasing "Taishan Overseas Chinese Cultural Relics and Historical Materials."
