Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Huguang Guild Hall for its stunning, well-preserved yellow architecture and its role as a cultural hub. The traditional performances, especially the 'Change Face' opera, are highly recommended for an immersive experience. While some buildings are rebuilt, the historical significance and visual appeal remain strong.

"This place was amazing! Not only is it a tourist site to walk around and check out the guild hall, they hold Chinese operas here that you can get tickets through trip.com or c-trip. The opera is definitely worth checking out while you're there and the history on this place is just fascinating. After they rebuilt the place, it looks just as good as new."

Lang Nguyen

"We came here with the recommendation of our driver to watch the Change Face performance. We were in a bit of a rush as the performance was about to start so we didn’t really explore the place. Performance was a bit of a mish mash with modern music (rap incorporated!). Chinese tea was served . We sat in this old tea house which was where the performance was staged last time. There were traditional dances, songs and kung fu tea performances. It took about 1 hour and I thought the choice of music for some of the skits could be more traditional."

HC L

"This is not extremely awesome place to visit because I am not too sure whether most buildings/houses are just rebuilt probably it only has a few originated. However we can’t expect too much because after many years especially Chongqing heavily bombed by the Jap during the Japanese invasion. And there was no tourist guys here which we can hired thus we can’t really learn much about the history of this place …"
