"If you don't have all day or don't want to sweat a lot here's a tip:
starting from the west gate, take 2 different buggy cars up to the peak.. then take another buggy to the south gate, or by the cable car
Very nice place to have a picnic and strolling"

"You can walk up the mountain and there are several paths up . You will get to visit temples on the way up if you are walking .
We decided to take the cable car up it’s around 10 mins, view was scenic .
Once you reach the mid peak , you can take the local bus or walk 2 km up to the next point closer to the peak of mountain . The bus ride costs RMb 10 per pax . There is a fee to enter to view the view from the peak but this covers the escalator which will take you up to the peak.
Once you get to the peak , You will be rewarded with beautiful view of the surrounding Guangzhou city ."
