Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Jianchuan Museum Cluster for its extensive collection of over twenty museums, offering deep dives into Sichuan's history, including the impactful Flying Tigers and 5.12 Earthquake exhibits. The cleanliness of facilities and the unique story of Zhu Jianqiang are also highlights. However, the significant lack of English translations is a major drawback for international tourists, making a Chinese-speaking companion highly recommended.

"Nice day out with my wife's Chinese family.

Would have scored the museum higher but for a lack of English translation with most of the pictures / historical depictions. There was translation only on the main museum section areas.

As a result, if you are a tourist, you should only visit with Chinese guides or Chinese family.

Glad I went. The Japanese exhibit as well as the exhibit of the 2008 Regional earthquake (8.0 magnitude) were particularly good and helped me understand more about both of these significant events. I was aware of both but not to the detail as provided here."

"Good place to learn the history of Sichuan via a few museums located within the compound. 猪坚强 Zhu Jianqiang, a pig which survived 36 days under rubbles during the 5.12 earthquake can be found here. He weights 200pounds now..."

Roy Tan

"Over twenty theme museums are in there. The flying tiger museum there is very cool. It presents the air force assistance that U.S. provided to China in world war 2."
