What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception for its historical significance and serene atmosphere, offering a peaceful escape in Beijing. Its unique blend of architectural styles is also a highlight. Some note that it can be a smaller site compared to other Beijing attractions.
"Beautiful church and community. I felt right at home. The mass was very reverent and the choir was absolutely incredible. Mass ran just over an hour and twenty minutes. Mass was conducted in Mandarin. There aren't any English masses per my last picture. That being said, the service is the same as any other Catholic Mass in the world so you can follow along easily. Just wanted to give a heads up for any future visitors.
Outside the church's front entrance there was a table that sold some small trinkets and souvenirs. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The church also has a small gift shop which is perfect for getting a couple gifts for your friends and family. This church has a great deal of history and beauty. I've read about Matteo Ricci for many years and it was surreal to attend mass at a church he laid the foundation for."

"Visited this place twice and it was, closed on both occasions. Very disappointing as I really wanted to see the inside and get better photos of the, outside. It looks amazing at night though, when it's lit up."
