Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the elegant preservation of the historic house and the unique rotating fashion exhibitions, which can feature notable figures. However, some find the admission price high given the limited number of fashion displays, and note that the museum's name might be slightly misleading as it's not solely a fashion museum.
"Liked this space.
Simple but elegant.
The way they preserved the house and converted it to use as a museum is good.
There is an exhibition of wardrobe of actress Sharon Tate."

"Big disapointment. We wanted to visit museum of fashion. We got exhibition of FIFA world championship 1962 and couple of nicely furnished rooms. And they claim: "MORE THAN 17,000 PIECES OF FASHION IN CONSERVATION" - from Baroque to WWII. Where??? Big part of the museum currently empty.
I understand if they prepare it for next exhibition but then it's definitely not worthy 10 euros admission per person for what they show..."

"The house is very nice . The fashion is lacking. being told it's a museum I would expect to be at the museum a minimum of 1 hour. There are only 3 rooms which 2 of them are small with fashion items and 1 big one.
I was surprised to see majority of the rooms to be about the set of rooms from the family who lived here.
The receptionist is very cold and unwelcoming. She just goes thru the motions and gives no sort of direction.
The only two nice things were the security personnel at the museums are very friendly and helpful.
The cafe is relaxing and has a nice music selection."

The Dual Nature: Fashion and Residence
While the name suggests a primary focus on fashion, it's important to note that the fashion exhibits are often temporary and rotate. These exhibitions can range from the wardrobes of iconic musicians like Billy Idol to significant pieces of footwear or historical fashion trends. The collection is described as having over 17,000 pieces, but not all are on display at any given time, leading some visitors to expect more extensive fashion displays.
Understanding this blend is key to enjoying the Museo de la Moda. Appreciating the preserved architecture and historical setting alongside the curated fashion exhibitions provides a more complete and satisfying experience. It's a place where history, art, and style converge.
Navigating Exhibitions and Expectations
Past exhibitions have garnered significant attention, featuring items from artists like Kurt Cobain's sneakers and t-shirts, or even the wardrobe of actress Sharon Tate. The museum also aims to highlight regional fashion, as seen in initiatives like the 'Museo de la Moda Pacific Couture' in Colombia, showcasing the influence of the Pacific Colombian region.
To make the most of your visit, it's highly recommended to check the museum's official website or social media channels for details on the current exhibitions. This will help you gauge whether the displayed content aligns with your interests and manage your expectations accordingly. Inquiring about potential guided tours might also offer deeper insights into the collections and conservation efforts.
