Ángelmo, Chile is more than a market by the sea 💙 it is a meeting place of roots and dreams. The colorful boats resting on the water echo the stories of fishermen who have lived from the ocean for generations. Here, the scent of the sea blends with the warmth of curanto, and the voices of artisans carry the spirit of Chiloé and the south. For me, Ángelmo is not only tradition; it is the reflectio...

Reviews Summary

Angelmó Market is celebrated for its incredibly fresh seafood and vibrant atmosphere, offering a true taste of Puerto Montt's coastal life. Visitors rave about the delicious and affordable meals at the cocinerías and the opportunity to buy seafood directly from the stalls. While generally a positive experience, some caution is advised regarding pickpocketing in crowded areas.

"A very nice place to buy fresh fish and seafood. We went there twice during one week to buy fresh centolla, oysters, and sea urchins. The prices were very good and you could see most of the stalls opening the sea urchins and oysters on the spot. Although many people say that you should be careful of pick pockets in the area, if you are careful, you should not have a problem. Do not wear expensive clothes or jewellery as a precaution. Would recommend."

"This was wonderful! Full of locals all really friendly! It was so vibrant, amazingly colourful and full of bustle.

There were fantastic seafood restaurants cooking fresh crab, unfortunately we weren’t hungry enough to try.

If you have time it’s a short walk from cruise terminal (roughly 20 minute walk to furthest point).

I think the photos say more than words"

"This is a cool market. Lots of cheap seafood, they are not always fresh though. And there are a lot of souvenir shops which their prices are not as good as the artisian market by the road."
