"Excellent first stop to learn about the construction, history and restoration of these beautiful monuments.
The handy map is a 1,000 clp bargain as it has a lot of information including the exact coordinates for the various sites. Unfortunately it does not give any info on hours or even which are ever open. Several of the 14 we visited were closed.
Lady that worked there was super friendly and helpful. She gave us lots of information in Spanish."

"Such a wonderful mystical place to know about the area's history. They have an interactive place where they explain how it's architectural value influenced their culture, since the beginning of time."

"Planned my whole trip in Chiloé around the churches. Spent 5 days travelling around, visiting almost all of them. Planned my trip back to Ancud only for the purposes of getting my stamps at the museum for the ones that weren’t open (which was the majority), instead of going straight from Castro to Puerto Montt, which would have made my life a lot easier. Stayed an extra day to wait for the museum to open again after a public holiday. And all that only for them not to be open during the hours advertised. All that planning and bother and changing my itinerary, all because someone couldn’t be bothered to update the opening hours, either here, on their website, or simply with a notice on the gate of the museum 😑👍🏻"
