Visitors rave about the stunning natural beauty, from the challenging rainforest climb of the Kokoda Track Memorial Walk to the crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life at 1000 Steps Beach. The historical significance of the Kokoda walk and the unique tide pools are frequently highlighted as major draws. However, parking limitations and the physical demands of the steps are common points of caution.
"This area is absolutely gorgeous, the views from the top of the steps are incredible, the water is so many incredible shades of pretty blues, and if you look close from the top you can spot big blue fish which clean and eat off the coral and reef below! Be prepared if you go down that the only way back up is via the steps as well- you need to be in at least decent shape, or willing to stop and catch your breathe etc. Perfect snorkeling or diving if you're into that. Lots of cool plants and vegetation above as well such as agave plants, aloe, cotton, wild sage, cactus, etc. Plenty of colorful beautiful birds, and more to see at this amazing spot. Would love to come back and spend more time snorkeling the area!"

"DO NOT forget your water shoes. You can walk barefoot but it hurts so bad. Snorkeling is good. Didn’t see any turtles unfortunately but very beautiful water and lots of beautiful fish. Went twice, both around 3-4pm so parking was fine. If you come during peak times or when a cruise ship is on the island - you’ll struggle with parking for sure."

"great hidden gem in bonaire, perfect for taking pictures. the view is absolutely incredible! Make sure you wear comfortable and walkable shoes because the steps are uneven and the beach at the bottom of the steps is rocky. Do not miss when you’re visiting Bonaire!"
