What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Back Bay Boston is widely praised for its beautiful architecture, upscale shopping on Newbury Street, and vibrant dining scene. Visitors enjoy the walkable nature of the neighborhood and the convenience of its central location. Some find parking challenging and expensive, and certain areas can become very crowded, especially on weekends.
"Be careful hiking into this area in the winter. At first I got lost and spent 30 mins looking for the entrance to this trail as it is not clearly marked. There was a single passerby that helped guide me to the entrance. You have to pass a small cemetery and there is a point when you have to slide down ice just to get down to the cave since you can’t just jump down with it being high. When I got to this area there was hardly anyone on the trail and I did slip on a huge ice rock pictured here smack on my tailbone. There is no cell phone coverage and no one can hear you if you yell for help. Make sure you travel with a buddy as it can be barren and if you are in distress no one is around to help and you can’t call for help. Luckily, I got up (despite the black and purple bruise) and was able to trek it out even though a bit difficult climbing up on ice to make it back through the cemetery. The time of 2+hrs is because of treading in the snow, being lost and starting from Sundog Trading Post."

"This was such a fun hike and hidden little gem that was recommended to us by a local. Rating “moderate” simply for the fact that in the snow/ice at the end of March, both my husband and I did slip/fall, even with good gripping snow boots. If not for that we’d rate it easy. There is maybe 50ft in elevation changes through the length of the hike and it is not long at all- though we went in and out on the same trail after we reached the ice falls. The map screen shot is where we parked and then (as another review said) found the red wooden sign and followed those along the path to the ice falls."

"It is never the same every time I went. Easy hike from back bay. You also can achieve there through Niven lake trail. It was not a huge one. But very unique and delicate to see in Yellowknife I. Winter."
