What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Henley Island is lauded as a fantastic venue, particularly for its rowing events and festivals, with praise for its well-run operations and dedicated volunteers. Visitors appreciate the natural beauty and the unique atmosphere it provides for both athletic competitions and music festivals. Some find the fall weather can be chilly during festivals, and parking logistics require attention during major events.
"Fantastic venue. Really know how to run an event. Top notch volunteers, staff, Pavillion, just all of it."

"ROWERS: When you arrive at Henley Island, you cross a narrow bridge. There is parking in both directions after crossing, but for the big regattas, you will generally be told to go right. Drive all the way around and park on the grass. This has always been free for us. For smaller regattas, or off season, a smaller parking lot to the left is normally available. Sometimes they charge a fee, but not much. If you are bringing boats, the only way in is to the left.
If you have not tried it, I highly recommend the rowers breakfast at the Henley Island Helpers restaurant. Nice people, good food, good portions, and a good price.
The northern tip of the island is more secluded, and gives a good view of the 1500 metre mark."

"Lovely park. I was here for a music festival and I must say it makes a great event venue. The Cicada Festival had a large variety of food trucks and vendor stands. I particularly liked the clam chowder. The Muskoka Brewery supplied a good variety of delicious craft beer. Two stages were set up and alternated so that there was always live music playing. The people were all very friendly and I had a blast. I definitely recommend this venue. My only complaint is that this festival was held in late fall and the weather was a little bit too chilly."
