The interactive elements for children and the charming bridal gallery are frequently mentioned highlights, making it a worthwhile detour for families and history buffs alike. While not a large attraction, its authenticity and community spirit shine through.
"Visiting the Spencerville Mill Museum was a very cool and memorable experience. The building itself, with its stone walls and rustic wooden interior, immediately gives you the feeling of stepping back in time. What impressed us the most was how well everything is maintained. You can tell that a lot of care and dedication goes into keeping this historic place alive and welcoming for visitors.
The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They didn’t just answer questions; they brought the history of the mill to life. One of the highlights was when they turned on the mill mechanism to show us exactly how it once operated. Watching the old machinery in action was both fascinating and educational, especially for the younger ones in our group.
We also appreciated the thoughtful touches for families. They handed out free stickers, pins, and temporary tattoos, which was such a fun surprise for the kids. The museum is also very accommodating with accessible washrooms and spaces made it easy for everyone in our group to enjoy the visit without stress.
It’s not a huge place, but that’s part of its charm. You can explore at a relaxed pace, take in the details, and even enjoy some of the small displays and models that paint a picture of the community’s past. All in all, it’s a pit stop that’s absolutely worth the detour off the highway. If you’re anywhere nearby, don’t miss it, it’s a slice of Canadian history preserved in the best possible way."

"A nice place to visit. The museum is well-maintained and admission fee is a donation to the maintenance of the museum. It is 4$/adult and 1$/teenager. There was space outside for parking. There is also a gazebo and a couple of picnic tables overlooking the water. There is as well a small park with some picnic tables just next to the museum. It was nice to go back in time to the 1900s and know how the mill worked from A to Z. All the stages and the elevator system in it. They also have a bridal gallery reminding us of how the brides used to dress and the traditions of that time. There was also a table with a bench, crayons and coloring papers with prints of flour bags for the kids to color. It was a pleasant visit."
