As magical as a tap-dancing, singing frog, botanical prints today at St Andrews Rectory! With thanks to the kind and capable staff at St Andrews Heritage Centre for hosting us, and to those who participated including the always-lovely Shel Malo who supplied most of the images in this Reel. "I visited during the Thanksgiving long weekend and I was so glad to discover this little gem that is open free of charge and beyond the short summer period (a lot of historic sites were already closed for the season when I visited). The site has free parking beside the house and also across the street in front of the church. The house itself is not big, and only the first floor is restored as exhibition space. Despite the small size, it contains a wealth of background info (including words, pictures, and interactive exhibits) on the rectory, the community, and Indigenous culture. The restored kitchen was quite cool to look at. They also have a small gift shop on the first floor. The two staff members I met here were very warm and friendly, and they allowed me to take a look around the second floor as well (hint: there was not much to see there!). The house has a nice porch and if the weather is not cold, you can take a walk around the grounds. The washroom is attached to the house and is clean and well-maintained. I’m really glad these historic sites are around, kept in a good state and staffed by great people!"
