It's a perfect stop for cyclists and history enthusiasts looking for a brief, educational detour. While the trail can be bumpy, the well-marked ovens and nearby picnic spots make for a pleasant outing.
"We had such a wonderful day cycling part of the KVR trail up to Rock Ovens Park and beyond. There weee signs pointing the way to the several rock ovens and we only had to leave the trail and walk in a very short distance to find them. There was a historical marker explaining who built them and why which was interesting. It was a bit of a bumpy cycle for part of the route but nothing we couldn’t manage with our touring bikes."
Margie
