"We hiked to Cobalt Lake on August 13, 2023, stunning views, well established trail to the ridge and then we followed cairns until we found the established trail to the lake"
Elena Generalova
"Stayed at the Kain hut for two nights and at Applebee campsite for another 3-4 nights. Both have an outhouse in proximity.
Beautiful area, great for mountaineering, rock-climbing and hiking.
At the campsite backpacks are recommended to put on racks to avoid pack-rats chewing through your things. There are also limited amount of lockers for protecting your food and belongings.
Tent stakes are not really necessary as you’ll need to use rocks to secure your tent on hard surface. You’ll either pay at the hut before you go up to the campsite or the custodian makes trips up sometimes as well."
Danielle Birchstream
"One of the best mountaineering/scrambling/climbing experiences you can get in Canada. Not for inexperienced hikers though - approach trail is rather challenging. ACC Cain hut provides great shelter, plenty of sleeping space, and all utilities. Booking strongly recommended. Applebee campground provides excellent views and few basic utilities - vermin stands, water, toilets."
