"New Edinburgh is probably my favourite area of Ottawa. Yes it’s expensive but I love it anyway. The area is very scenic which includes the nice Sussex Drive. The Rideau Falls is a pleasant spot to view the river scenes. Hey n a nice summer day it’s great!! I’m not sure about the Tavern that opened up there recently. In order to view the falls from that deck you need to enter this restaurant. Maybe they allow you to go even if you don’t plan to sit and order anything. I’m not sure. In any case it’s a nice place to go. 👍☺️"

"The stunning waterfall that curves like a "Curtain" is called "Rideau" in French. Consequently, the river is also named Rideau after the waterfall. As a result, many locations in Ottawa are named "Rideau" in honor of this natural wonder.
This park is the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll while taking in the breathtaking sunset over the Ottawa River. You can also be entertained by the ducks who patiently walk along the falls' edge in search of food.
Overall, I highly recommend this park as it is truly a beautiful and mesmerizing place to visit."

"Beautiful waterfall. Plenty of parking and also walkable distance from the Parliament building. There is a small walk near the falls that takes you around the Minto bridges to see the backwaters of the falls."
