What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Osoyoos Golf Club is highly praised for its two distinct courses, the challenging Desert and traditional Meadows, both offering beautiful views. Visitors rave about the exceptional customer service in the clubhouse and the quality of the food. While the courses are generally in great shape, some reviews mention occasional wet spots or temporary greens, and pace of play can be an issue during peak times.
"First time we've played here, the Dunes is a tough (but fair) desert layout. The Meadows is a more traditional layout that still challenges every golfers ability. Planning to play both again!"
Mark Smith
"Great course, even better service! I have played at quite afew diffrent courses, and this one had me walking away in awe at the incredible customer service we recieved. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by 2 friendly people in the clubhouse and we had a nice chat about the course and facilities (driving range, restaurant etc). We then went in for lunch before the round (we were about 15mins before it opned, but the amazing server sat us down and got us a drink while the kitchen got ready to open. Food was perfect, an amazing clubhouse sandwhich! We then wenbt to the driving range and forgot our ball ticket codes, but another employee saw us right away and zoomed back to get us some! We played the desert course which has amazing views, a couple blind shots, and some wide open fairways. A good mix of a little bit of a challenge and straightforward shots. (I didnt find it that hard as some people have said, and I'm a 28 handicap!). Course is in great shape, with very fast greens! Make sure you respect the signs to stay out of the enviromentally sensitive areas. Was an amazing experience from start to finish. I'm sorry I didn't rememebr anyone on staff's names, but anyone that worked on 07/25/2025 deserves prasie! Look forward to coming back!"

"Great course but has some really soft wet spots and a few temp greens. Great views from most holes."

Choosing Your Course: Desert vs. Meadows
The Meadows Course, on the other hand, provides a more traditional golf experience. It features a classic parkland layout with manicured fairways and greens, offering a different, yet equally engaging, challenge. While perhaps less visually dramatic than the Desert Course, the Meadows Course is praised for its playability and its own set of strategic nuances. Many visitors enjoy playing both courses to experience the full breadth of what Osoyoos Golf Club has to offer, appreciating the variety and the consistent quality of the groundskeeping on both.
When deciding which course to play, consider your comfort level with elevation changes and blind shots. The Desert Course is often recommended for experienced golfers seeking a unique challenge, while the Meadows Course might be more approachable for those who prefer a more conventional layout. However, both courses are designed to be enjoyable and memorable for all skill levels, with excellent customer service enhancing the overall experience.
Navigating the Osoyoos Climate
To make the most of your golfing experience in this climate, it's crucial to plan your tee times strategically. Early morning rounds are highly recommended to avoid the peak heat of the day. Many golfers also opt for late afternoon or twilight tee times when the temperatures begin to cool down. Staying hydrated is paramount; always carry plenty of water and consider bringing electrolyte supplements. Sun protection, including high SPF sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses, is non-negotiable.
While summer is popular, the shoulder seasons, particularly September, offer a more temperate climate. During this time, the desert landscape turns golden, the air is crisp, and the crowds tend to thin out, providing a more relaxed golfing experience. This makes September a prime time for those who want to enjoy the Osoyoos Golf Club without the intense summer heat.
The Osoyoos Golf Club Experience: Beyond the Fairway
Beyond the golf and dining, the surrounding region offers a wealth of activities. Osoyoos is a hub for wine tourism, with numerous wineries in the vicinity offering tastings and tours. The town itself is situated on Osoyoos Lake, providing opportunities for water sports and relaxation. For those interested in local culture and nature, exploring the desert landscape or visiting nearby attractions adds another dimension to a trip centered around the golf club.
Accommodation options range from resorts that offer golf packages, like Spirit Ridge Resort, to various hotels and vacation rentals in and around Osoyoos. This makes it convenient for visitors to combine their golfing aspirations with a comfortable and enjoyable stay in the South Okanagan. The combination of world-class golf, excellent service, and the unique desert environment makes Osoyoos Golf Club a compelling destination.
