Reviews Summary
Sawmill Lake is praised for its beautiful, tranquil setting with plenty of tree cover and wildlife sightings. Campers appreciate the decent spacing of sites and the clean pit toilets. However, visitors must be prepared for a rough access road requiring a capable vehicle and are urged to practice strict 'Leave No Trace' principles to preserve the area.
"Beautiful site! Plenty of tree cover, Plenty of open space. Sites are decently spread. I was only there for a couple hours and saw 3 Turtles, a rattlesnake and a cow.
Unfortunately it looked like some out-of-province campers used a site as their personal garbage dump before they left... It's not the site's fault but that kind of ignorant behavior will only ensure that these places eventually become off limits to everyone...
I hope to come back for a few nights before that happens. I guess I'll have to bring a few extra garbage bags though...
Wear boots when walking through the bush."
