What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Skylon Tower for its absolutely breathtaking panoramic views of Niagara Falls and the surrounding area, calling it a must-see attraction. The glass elevator ride is also a highlight. However, many find the dining options to be overpriced for the quality of food, with mixed reviews on the buffet and revolving restaurant.
"What an awesome experience!! Little expensive but worth the $20 per adult ticket to have a breathtaking view of the Niagara Falls area. Ticket grants you access to the indoor and outdoor observation decks. The indoor deck has some informative labels and posters to read up on the history/geography of the area. The outdoor deck is where you'll get to take some awesome shots of the falls and other city attractions.
Little breezy so a light coat/cardigan is recommended."

"We went to the buffet dinner for $55/person. Expensive but beautiful view, food not so good. The rolls were rock hard, the steak/beef was dry and chewy, the chicken had a strange texture. The desserts were basic and slightly bland. The food was very disappointing especially for the cost. We couldn’t get out fast enough. I think we ate about $5 worth of food. None of us finished our plates. I didn’t want to complain because the help was very nice and sweet and I know they didn’t cook it. I would never go to the buffet ever again there but would try the other restaurant instead. The view on the observation deck was amazing! Really fun for the whole family."

"Best place for a bird’s eye view! I was all about seeing Niagara Falls from the top, from the bottom—and at Skylon Tower, from above! We just did the standard observation deck price. We didn’t eat there (reviews on that are mixed, reservations recommended). We just enjoyed the observation deck, seeing the surrounding sites, and the ride on the exterior windowed elevator."

The Skylon Tower Experience: Views and Dining
Visitors can choose between two main experiences: the observation deck and the dining options. The observation deck, accessible via standard admission, allows guests to explore both indoor and outdoor viewing platforms. These decks are equipped with informative displays about the area's history and geography, and offer prime spots for photography. For those seeking a more immersive experience, the Revolving Dining Room Restaurant offers a fine dining experience where the entire restaurant rotates, providing a continuous 360-degree panorama. Alternatively, the Summit Suite Buffet offers a more casual, family-friendly dining option with similar views.
However, it's important to note that while the views are consistently praised, the dining experience at the Skylon Tower receives mixed reviews. Some travelers find the food quality to be disappointing relative to the high prices, leading to a sentiment that it might be an overpriced tourist trap for dining. Despite these critiques, many still find the combination of the spectacular views and the unique dining setting to be a memorable part of their Niagara Falls visit.
Navigating the Skylon Tower: Practical Tips
For those planning to dine, reservations are highly recommended, particularly for the Revolving Dining Room, to ensure you get a table and a preferred time slot. Be aware that while the views are spectacular, some reviews suggest the dining experience might be more about the panorama than the culinary quality, with prices being on the higher side. If your primary goal is the view, opting for the observation deck admission might be a more budget-friendly choice.
When visiting the observation decks, especially the outdoor one, be prepared for potentially strong winds. Bringing a light jacket or cardigan is advisable, even on warmer days. The glass elevators offer a unique and thrilling ride, but if you have a fear of heights, it's something to consider. The tower also features an arcade, adding another layer of entertainment, particularly for families.
