Reviews Summary
Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church is highly praised for its vibrant community and Father Mario's inspiring, engaging homilies that have brought many back to faith. While the church is popular and can get crowded, especially on Sundays, the welcoming atmosphere and spiritual depth make it a significant place for many parishioners. Some past sermon content has been noted as controversial, prompting visitors to approach messages with critical awareness.
"At his most recent Mass, Rev. Mario Salvadori dedicated his entire homily to the tragic Minnesota school shooting. Rather than offering compassion or focusing on the victims, he framed the deaths of the two children as if they “did not die for nothing,” using their deaths to push his own narrative. He further cited questionable statistics on the rise of transgender identities, linking this to the tragedy without evidence.
His central claim was that parents must return to “traditional gender roles” to “fix” their children a stance both unfounded and deeply insensitive. While the shooter had previously admitted to experiencing suicidal and homicidal thoughts, including fantasies of killing children, Rev. Salvadori ignored these factors and instead used the shooter’s transgender identity to fuel a broader argument against LGBTQ+ individuals.
This is not the first time he has demonstrated troubling rhetoric. At the Mass prior to this one, before ending the service, he called a small girl up to the altar and picked her up. While many initially thought the gesture was innocent and lighthearted, he then said, “If you convert, I will slap you,” presenting it as a joke. Such a remark, directed at a child in front of the congregation, was profoundly inappropriate and disrespectful toward those outside the catholic faith.
Taken together, these incidents show a consistent pattern. Father Mario has shown little regard for those outside the Christian faith.
⚠️ Warning: The rhetoric expressed by this priest is deeply troubling, harmful, and dismissive of the real causes and consequences of violence. Parishioners and community members should approach his messages with caution and critical awareness."

"Fr. Mario used to be the pastor for 13 years at St. Joseph The Worker in Thornhill and changed the environment's and brought people back to the church. See the same similarities whenever I visit Sts. Peter & Paul and see how much your parish has grown and bringing people back into the church again. God Bless!"

"I have been Catholic my whole life. In 2012 I attended a funeral in Poland where the Catholic priest yelled at me for not being able to remember the proper way of confessing my sins. I felt betrayed and pushed away by someone who i have looked up to as a religious authority. I stopped going to church, turned away from Jesus. As I became a mother i followed the basics, .. Baptism, Communion and Confirmation for my daughters. I wasnt that mother to push for a weekly mass or confessions or any kind of church involvment. In 2024 my younger daughter had her Communion at Father Mario's church. And this time something clicked. Father Mario, his church, his way of teaching / preaching has sparked something in my soul that was destroyed by the priest in 2012. I am by no means the perfect Catholic, far from it. But thanks to Father Mario who with his style of teaching/preaching has brought this soul back to Christ, back to church. I once again feel part of the Church, part of something meaningful. He not only brought me back to the church, but my daughters as well. I will forever be greatfull for him."
