Reviews Summary

Visitors find Xá:ytem Longhouse Hatzic Rock to be a fascinating historical and cultural center, particularly when experienced with a knowledgeable guide who shares captivating stories. However, many reviewers express frustration with the site's infrequent public opening hours, leading to missed opportunities for visits.

"Fascinating historical and cultural centre going back some 9,000 years with artifact displays and restored pit houses. Had the opportunity to visit with a guide from the centre, a passionate storyteller who explained the daily lives of the original indigenous people and the legends of the giant rock on-site -- a transformer stone -- and the nearby range that features Mount Cheam’s ‘singing woman’ and ‘protecting dog’. Not open very often since covid but if the chance arises to visit, I highly recommend it."

John Pozer

"Had the opportunity to visit with Sonny as our guide. Through the retelling of stories we were immersed in the history of the indigenous people who have inhabited this area since time immemorial. It was a truly moving and unforgettable experience. Unfortunately the site is no longer to the general public, but private tours and school groups are still welcome."
