What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Markham Museum for its well-preserved heritage buildings and engaging historical exhibits. The staff are frequently commended for their kindness and helpfulness, especially during events and private bookings. While some events can get crowded, the overall experience is highly recommended for its educational value and family-friendly atmosphere.
"Markham Museum and its staff, ESPECIALLY Sarah C, Scott, and Robert, helped to make our baby shower truly memorable!
We worked with Sarah in booking our venue, and in fine-tuning the details. Sarah is really kind, accommodating, and gave off such positive energy during our meetings/email exchanges! She is really easy to work with :).
We picked the transportation hall as it suited our guest count needs, they had a large kitchen, and they provided beautiful chairs and tables!!! There is also ample parking near the hall.
Scott and Robert assisted us the day off and we are truly grateful for their help! They were both so kind and went above and beyond whenever we asked for any assistance.
Would highly recommend booking your next event with Markham Museum! We want to make up and host another event JUST to book it with them again lol."

"We went to AppleFest at Markham Museum today with the family and really enjoyed it. The whole place had a great fall atmosphere with fresh apple cider, food vendors, and lots of local products to try. The live demonstrations, like blacksmithing and cider making, were interesting and added to the experience. My kids had a blast with the rides, games, and hands-on activities around the museum grounds. It was crowded at times but well organized, and staff and volunteers kept things moving smoothly. Parking was busy but manageable. Overall, AppleFest is a fun and family-friendly event that’s worth making an annual tradition."

"I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful guided tour that led us through the rich historical site in Markham. It was truly an inspiring and educational experience, allowing us to connect with the city’s vibrant past and heritage.
The preservation of key landmarks like the train station, chapel, blacksmith shop, and variety hall within the museum is not only impressive but deeply meaningful. These authentic settings bring history to life and offer visitors a unique opportunity to step back in time and understand the roots of the community.
I would like to kindly encourage the City to continue investing in the protection and promotion of these historic sites. Increasing funding and resources for heritage conservation will ensure that future generations can enjoy and learn from these treasures. Additionally, enhancing public education—perhaps through school programs, interactive exhibits, and more frequent guided tours—would be a wonderful way to raise awareness and appreciation for Markham's cultural legacy.
Thank you again for your dedication to preserving history. Your efforts make Markham not just a city of the future, but also a proud guardian of the past."
