What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Cosmodome Laval for its engaging and interactive space missions, particularly the virtual journeys to Mars and the Moon, and the fun moonwalk simulator. It's a hit with kids who enjoy technology and space exploration. However, some find the overall space a bit small and note that weekday operations might be limited.
"Very informative and very interactive space museum. Suggest to take a bracelet to track activities done and missing to ensure you maximize the experience. The use of the tablets and screens are required to participate in the activities, so young kids and older people may struggle in some activities.
Unfortunately as we went on a weekday, the staff informed us that they weren’t operating the lower level of the museum where the shuttle replica is. No activity accessible. They informed us after we enquired to return on a weekend when animators are running activities. This of course disappointed our crew: ticket prices are the same weekday and weekends.
We truly enjoyed the moon virtual mission. It was easy to follow and the duration (approximately one hour) was perfect for a group of 5-75 years old. It’s a better value to take the combo ticket with the health museum ( collocated) to do a space mission and health lab activity)."

"I loved discovering Mars though the virtual mission. This is about one hour interactive mission. My kids loved that they had to use their bracelets to start the games. Afterwards at the exposition section, there are still some interactive stations. There is a lot of reading too. Next time we come, the kids want to try the simulators. It's a great activity and learn about the planets and solar system."

"The Cosmodome is a cool place to bring kids — especially if they’re into space, planets, and astronauts. It’s interactive, educational, and does a good job of sparking curiosity about space travel and the solar system. The exhibits are visually engaging, and the themed missions offer a fun experience for younger visitors.
That said, the space itself is surprisingly small. You can get through the exhibits fairly quickly, and aside from the missions and simulator experiences, there’s not much else to explore. It felt more like a specialized exhibit than a full-scale science center or museum.
If you’re planning to visit, it’s best for younger children, maybe ages 5–12. Teens or adults may find it a bit underwhelming unless they’re doing one of the more in-depth mission activities. It’s a fun visit for an hour or two, but don’t expect to spend the whole day here."

While some visitors note that the overall space can feel compact, the presence of unique items like a piece of the Moon adds significant value. The interactive elements in the exhibition section continue the hands-on learning, though some reviews suggest there's also a considerable amount of reading involved. For those seeking more advanced experiences, simulators are also available, offering a glimpse into the life of an astronaut.
It's important to note that the operational status of certain exhibits, like the shuttle replica, can vary. Navigating Cosmodome Laval: Practical Tips
Technology plays a key role in the Cosmodome experience. The use of tablets and interactive bracelets is central to most missions and games. The duration of the missions, around an hour, makes the Cosmodome a great option for a focused activity rather than an all-day affair.
Value and convenience are also considerations. Many reviewers suggest that purchasing a combo ticket, which often includes access to the adjacent health museum, offers better value. The ability to leave and re-enter with a receipt is also a practical tip, allowing visitors to step out for lunch at nearby eateries before returning to complete their exploration.
