What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently rave about Lake Louise's breathtaking turquoise waters and stunning mountain backdrop, calling it an unforgettable, almost unreal natural wonder. While the beauty is undeniable, the primary drawback is the extreme difficulty in accessing the area due to limited parking and highly competitive shuttle services, often requiring very early mornings or advance planning.
"This lake is beautiful… it has a beautiful shape with the beautiful mountains 🏔️ to see…. I heard that one Japanese guys also made a song for this lake too… I also heard this song inside the bus by the radio… while I was going to this Louis Lake… the lake’s water was also totally, hardly frozen, so I could also walk the way towards the right end most part of the lake too…. I wish I could also come to the Louis Lake in the Summer season too…. someday for sure… I think Louis lake is beautiful…. and it is totally worth it for people to visit in Summer and Winter…. The Louis lake is also in the westernmost side of state of Alberta, right next to the border of the BC (British Columbia) state…. which is also becoming a “welcoming” sigh for people who are visiting, or entering the state of Alberta from other places…."

"Beautiful views when we went this past August, with the fireweeds (the pink flowers) and iconic turquoise water. Recommend going up to the Beehive Hikes if you have time and energy, but even just the view at the lakeside is still very beautiful! The bus shuttle system was fair but difficult to book, so make sure to book in advance and get there early!"

"Lake Louise is a really beautiful lake, second only to Moraine Lake, slightly further up. The water is astounding, especially with the sun fully on it. Getting here was easy, but you really do need to book a long way in advance or stay at Lake Louise Chateau or Morain Lake Lodge.
The walk along the side of the lake is lovely, giving some fantastic views of both the lake and surrounding mountains. At the far end of the lake you can see right across the valley behind the Chateau. It is work walking, not only to the end of the lake, but up to the Plain of Six teahouse. The views walking back from here are amazing.
This is probably the primary place people visit in Banff. I would recommend noon to late afternoon."
