Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Garibaldi Lake for its breathtaking, almost surreal turquoise waters and stunning mountain scenery, calling it a must-hike. While the challenging ascent, particularly the initial switchbacks, is noted, most agree the views are well worth the effort. Some find the hike repetitive, but the payoff at the lake is universally celebrated.

"What an amazing hike 🚶‍♂️ definitely not for the weak. We did this in 5 and 1/2 hours 13 miles total. The first two miles are switchbacks, probably the hardest of the hike. The day we went was cloudy with light rain. This caused some of the trail to be muddy. Also, some of it had snow that had melted. We started the hike at 7:00 a.m. only ran into one more person hiking halfway up you are faced with a small river 🏞 that you will have to jump rock and rock or use the plank that is there to cross it when we went up the water level was over the plank we had to find our way over the water you might get wet. After the river, it levels out, and the hike is not as bad. Once you're getting to the campground, there might be snow and might make it hard slippery to get through, but not too bad. When we arrived at the lake, the sun was trying to break through the clouds. This made it a wonderful time to take pictures and take in the scenery, definitely breathtaking views😲 of the mountains and lake. Overall a must hike if you're in the area I would recommend take plenty of water snacks if you're not a seasoned hiker I would rate this 8 out of 10 for difficulty also would not be a bad idea to take bear spray we did not see any cougar or bears on the hike but it is the Wilderness so be aware. And to the people that camp out by the lake, you guys are badass.🏕"

"We had such an amazing time hiking to Garibaldi Lake!
It can feel challenging at first, but after about an hour, it gets much more manageable. Wearing proper hiking boots, carrying a good backpack, and bringing plenty of water is highly recommended.

The moment you reach the lake, you realize—it’s absolutely worth it. The water color is unreal, almost magical, and the views are breathtaking.

We had a great day with friends and can’t wait to experience it again in the winter. Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature and a good adventure!"

"Did the Garibaldi Lake hike today. The trail was easy to follow and incredibly beautiful. It was quite busy, with lots of parking available, but you still need to get a parking pass online, even though no one was there to check it. There’s an outhouse at the 6 km mark and a few more at the lake. The hike is about 20 km round trip. Going up didn’t feel steep, but coming down was a bit hard on the knees. I’d call it a moderate hike, not hard. 5/5."
