The re-enactments and demonstrations make it even more engaging, and the layout of the fort is well preserved, so you can actually picture how soldiers lived back then. There’s a nice mix of indoor exhibits and outdoor areas to explore, plus great views of the Niagara River.

"We had an excellent time at the fort complex. It began with a ~20 minute film on the fort and war of 1812 followed by a tour of the entire fort. The tour took over an hour, and our guide”Sarah “ did a great job and patiently answered our questions. We also saw a musket firing. There were other displays set up in fort buildings to see on our own. Reenactors dressed in period clothing. After that walked through a very modern and well laid out museum with artifacts and soldiers stories. Has a nice cafe and gift shop. Good, free parking onsite."
