What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Nokiidaa Trail for its beautiful natural scenery along the East Holland River and its well-maintained paths, suitable for walking and biking. The network of unassumed dirt trails is a particular highlight for those seeking a more natural experience. Some find the lack of picnic spots and the heat during summer afternoons to be minor drawbacks.
"Excellent walking trail, has a paved or gravel section that's well maintained. However, the best parts are the dirt trails that branch off from the main trail, especially after Green Lane and before reaching Holland Landing. The forest is full of small trails that are easy to navigate and much more natural and relaxing. There's even a stunt area for bikers that has been around for ages, built up by generations of youth - worth checking out if only just to see it because it's pretty cool, though use at your own risk. Highly recommend exploring these trails on a sunny day. Just don't leave any trash behind."

"This is a great system of trails both groomed and unassumed. I enjoy mountain biking, Nordic pole walking and taking photos here. Wonderful scenery along the East Holland River along with historic points of interest such as the abandoned Newmarket Canal project, intended to link Newmarket to the Trent-Severn Waterway via the river and Lake Simcoe.
Connecting Aurora, Newmarket and East Gwillimbury year round."

"We decided to go to the Aurora arboretum and somehow got confused with how big it actually is and ended up here! It was beautiful! Perfect spot to hike with your dog! A lot of people were cycling perhaps to finish the whole trail. There are multiple parking spots for this trail. Using the All trails app definitely helps to track where you are, where you could be heading etc.
Not many picnic spots. Hope to visit the actual Aurora arboretum next time. Not sure why every trail around here states it’s a part of the arboretum. Perhaps everything is connected? Need to explore to find out!"
