"Great lunch in a quaint historical setting with beautiful views. Great lentil soup and Montreal smoked meat sandwiches. The date pudding is sinfully sweet but worth the temptation! Ate in the comfortable lounge area under the Renoir painting (print the assume!)"

"We stopped by and were pleasantly surprised at how much charm the place has. The old hotel is grand with so many cozy areas to rest, eat, read, etc. They plan to add a number of cottages in the next year or so to keep up with the number of guests during the summer."

"Stayed for 3 nights to celebrate 25th wedding anniversary and were still among the younger guests. I think this was the highlight of the PEI trip... like traveling back in time. Our third floor standard king room was charming with its antiques, comfy bed, recliner chairs and overall simplicity. No elevators, so must always take stairs up. Portable air conditioning unit could not keep up on 85 degree day and heat was almost too much. Fireplace in main sitting area had fire continuously burning even on 78 degree day, which we found comical. Hot water took about 5 minutes to reach our faucets, but would eventually arrive. I was surprised there was no housekeeping service given the hotel status, but that didn't take much away. Ordered Diamond Room package for $59, which included bottle of wine (ice in bucket all melted before we arrived due to hot day), raspberry cordial (2), fudge and caramel corn/ potato chip mix. Staff was lovely, as were other guests; always ready to chat. Restaurant served delicious dishes for breakfast and dinner from a small menu. We loved all the tucked away alcoves indoors and out to get comfortable with a book or to spend time reflecting on the surroundings."
