"Great trail - please note it has been lengthened to more like 9.5 to 10km so be prepared for that. Lovely deciduous and confierous sections, and the lookouts are great. "Visited Wolf Trail in Gatineau Park on August 23, 2025.
We parked at P13, which is also the trailhead. Parking costs $2.75 CAD per hour—it gets quite busy on weekends in summer, so plan to arrive early or after 12 PM to find a spot. There’s also a beach at P13, so you can go for a swim after your hike!
The trail is a 10 km loop with a 220-meter (around 720 feet) climb. There are three viewpoints offering beautiful scenery along the way.
Although the National Capital Commission describes Wolf Trail as one of the most difficult trails in Gatineau Park, we found it to be more moderate—we completed it in about 2.5 hours, and it can generally be done in under 3 hours. There are some steep stretches, so caution is needed, but the trail is wide enough for two people to walk side by side.
On weekends in summer, you’ll meet plenty of hikers, and dogs are allowed, which makes it even more enjoyable for pet owners. Overall, it’s a good hike with great views!"
