What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre for its free museum, vibrant cultural events, and welcoming atmosphere. It's seen as a valuable community hub that enriches Calgary's multicultural landscape. However, some events, like the Hong Kong Style Stampede Breakfast, have faced criticism for poor organization and long wait times without guaranteed food.
"HONG KONG STYLE STAMPEDE BREAKFAST
The Stampede's free Chinese-style breakfast, served from 10 am to noon, is advertised with limited servings, but the exact number is not specified. Upon arrival at 10 am, I was met with an incredibly long line. I was informed that joining the line didn't guarantee breakfast, as only 500 dishes were available. After waiting for 45 minutes, I had barely moved and decided to quit. The concept of offering something new is commendable, but the event's organization is subpar. It's unacceptable to make people wait for hours without ensuring they'll receive food. A more efficient approach would be to distribute limited tickets to those in line ahead of time, guaranteeing that they'll receive their share. Due to the poor organization, I do not recommend attending this event!
You can see from the pictures that’s no end in sight."

"Absolutely great place to discover - amazing decoration, atmosphere at the center itself. There is museum at the basement. Just enter it from the stairs in the hall. Not big, but has a lot of treasures to discover, history to see, impressions to get.
Free entrance, no ticket is needed (just if you are the group and want to have a guided tour, then better to contact them in advance)."

"Fantastic cultural centre with an impressive museum in the basement. There are certain events that take place from time to time where there are free activities and performances (Chinese singing). There are also badminton courts & table tennis 🏓 tables. It is an excellent facility for the local Chinese community."
