What Travellers Say

Visitors consistently praise Claireville Ranch for its beautiful forest trails, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and gentle horses, making it a highly recommended spot for beginner horseback riders and families. While the first-come, first-served booking system can lead to long waits and disappointment if arriving too late, many find the experience well worth the planning and patience required.
"Being a first timer had pretty good experience and staff ensured to keep at comfort. Instructions were clear and they keep check on you through out. So, nothing to worry.
It’s good ride for the amateurs to give the comfort and experience with horses.
Rode on an open space with some uphill and downhill and small trail. Good activity to spend time with friends. There are ponies for the kids as well. Helmets are included in the fee and can opt if wanted."

"Super experience at the clairville ranch, the staff were great, knowledgeable and patient. I want to give an extra bod to our instructor Terry who made the experience so much better. She really went the extra mile to give our friend a great birthday. The trail is beautiful, lots of wild turkeys, and the horses were amazing and so gentle. I just wish there was a way to reserve timeslots for groups under 8. A few of us drove about 2 hours to get there and since it's first come first serve makes it a little tricky with timing. All in all great time, I highly recommend."

"I originally left a 1-star review after multiple failed attempts to go horseback riding for my birthday. Despite following their website’s advice to arrive 30–45 minutes early, I was turned away three days in a row because they were full. I even offered to pay upfront to reserve a spot, but was told reservations weren’t allowed. It was incredibly disappointing, especially for a special occasion.
However, I returned yesterday and had a much better experience. I arrived right when they opened at 2:00 PM and was able to reserve a spot for the 6:00 PM ride. The staff were friendly, helpful, and clearly cared for the horses, which were well-kept and calm. The conservation area was beautiful, and the trail ride was perfect for beginners.
While I still think their booking system could be improved—especially for those traveling from farther away—I’m glad I gave it another shot. Just be prepared to plan ahead and arrive early to secure your spot. Overall, it turned out to be a lovely experience, and I’d recommend it to others who are patient and flexible with timing."
