What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Woodchester Villa for its unique 'Bird House' architecture and scenic location overlooking the Muskoka River. While interior access can be limited, the exterior charm and historical significance make it a worthwhile stop. Some note past closures and potential underutilization, but the visual appeal remains a strong draw.
"A very lovely piece of history but didnt get the chance to see this house from inside as it was closed already when we reached. This beautiful villa also known as The Bird House is surrounded by nature and overlooks Muskoka river."

"Been closed since Covid19, so far as I can tell... Temporarily/indefinitely closed. A wonderful potential wedding venue --- lost due to municipal ambivalence/cost savings or perhaps something else... Too bad, its a nice looking piece of local history -that is underutilized. Bazillions overpaid for a new library, mostly unneeded rink/field house - according to some who have compared what our city 'officials' authorized to be spent as compared to other projects elsewhere... but did they get their numbers right? Conspiracy theory? Miss or Diss information? Bad boy... Pictures include THE octogonal 'Bird' house, plus the presumed site of the original Bird family woolen mill.
One picture from April 28th 2019 shows major flow past site of woolen mill..."
