"This was one of my favourite historic sites I stopped at! The staff were so welcoming and excited to see me, they were great at showing me around, they were all so knowledgeable explaining all about the site, they were very passionate. It was easy to go through and it was absolutely beautiful in the family’s home and the artifacts were amazing to see. I took my time reading everything and probably took me around 2hrs. It was amazing to learn about the cod fishing empire in Bonavista. Parking was tricky to find, but it’s just on the grass behind the house/fish flakes."

"This exhibit is an excellent stop. You get to see a different perspective of fishery and seal hunting in the area. Parks Canada also acknowledged they were working to add perspectives from other groups such as Mi’kmaq people’s to provide fuller picture of history of the land. The Parcs Canada gift shop next door also has a variety of cute purchases. Highly recommend."

"We really enjoyed our visit to the Ryan Premises. Being from B.C., we didn’t had a ton of knowledge about the history of fisheries in Newfoundland and felt this site did a great job educating us. We were here about 1 hour and both learned a lot about he history of Cod Fishing (and Sealing). We had purchased a national parks pass, so this site was included. Building also had a floor with a museum dedicated to the history of Bonavista."
