What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Barrie Farmers' Market for its strong connection to the local community, featuring friendly vendors and a growing selection of delicious food and unique artisan crafts. While some note it can feel smaller earlier in the season or on rainy days, the overall experience is consistently described as a delightful Saturday morning outing, especially during the summer months.
"I've been taking my son to the Barrie Farmer's Market almost every week since he was old enough to walk. He loves being greeted by name at all of our usual stops, and I love that he's growing up with such a strong connection to the farmers, artisans, musicians, and fellow shoppers in our local community. Some vendors are only there during the summer, and some have come and gone over the years, but we always find at least a few things that are delicious, beautiful, or just plain neat. I only have two complaints, and both are pretty minor. First, it would be convenient to have an ATM on site again - most of the vendors take debit or at least e-transfer, but a few are cash-only. And secondly... I selfishly wish he was still young enough to not be able to finish an entire mango lassi by himself. (I might need to start buying two, just to make sure I get at least a few sips of one)."

"There were not too many vendors in this indoor market. I was hoping to be able to find eggs and produces. Maybe in the spring/summer season, there will be more vendors? The empandas (Wela's Kitchen) and Portuguese custard tart (That Pretzel Dough) were tasty.
That Pretzel Dough were selling their baked goods for $4.50 each or 4 for $15.
Super Green Juice tasted good and smooth. It costs $10 each."

"It's an outdoor market by blocking on street. There is public parking around the street. I found 3 vendor selling farm vegetables and handful selling baked goods. I really loved the family who set up leather and wood-carving stall. I also found two artists performing. I just wish if they could have added something for kids , like a bouncy house :)"
