Reviews Summary

Ainsworth Hot Springs offers a unique experience with its natural mineral waters and the captivating cave. Visitors praise the therapeutic qualities of the water and the stunning lake views. However, some families find the strict rules for children and overcrowding during peak times to be drawbacks, impacting the overall relaxation factor.

"I had the opportunity to take my 2 daughters to this beautiful hot springs while visiting my parents in BC, Canada recently. I grew up there and love the natural springs and caves overlooking the beautiful mountains and Kootenay lake. The drive is breathtaking with winding turns, so drive carefully. We had a wonderful time. I'm sure you will too."

"We didnt stay at the hotel, just went to check out the water. The hot springs was awesome! The cave area is really nice, dark, and a sensory experience. The outer hot springs are decorated nicely with plants and seating options. The pool itself is large and has lots of seating options. The change rooms are large and clean. The entry comes with a free locker to use and I forgot my hair tie but they also had me covered there. The cold plunge was a nice touch too! The cave pools are truly HOT. I enjoyed my time there with my hubby and we both can’t wait to go back in the wintertime if they’re open. The staff seemed friendly and ready to help anyone who needed it."

"The front desk staff were wonderful and very helpful, but unfortunately, that’s the only positive part of our stay.

From the moment our family arrived at the pool, we felt targeted simply for having kids. Our 12- and 9-year-olds were dunking themselves underwater and coming up for air — something completely normal for children — and were immediately scolded for “splashing.” We were approached with complaints before we even stepped into the water, and throughout our time there it seemed like the kids couldn’t so much as breathe, talk, or laugh without someone complaining.

The pool staff and manager’s constant monitoring and comments made what should have been a relaxing and fun experience stressful and unwelcoming. It’s very clear that families with children are not embraced here. Honestly, this resort should advertise itself as adult-only, because kids are clearly not welcome.

The pool itself is completely overrun with Day Pass visitors during the day — it’s so crowded that you’re shoulder to shoulder with strangers. If you actually want to use the pool comfortably as a hotel guest, your only option is early morning or late at night.

To make matters worse, parking is prioritized for Day Pass guests. As a paying hotel guest, it was frustrating to see that convenience goes to those just visiting for the day, not those staying overnight.

The $15 continental breakfast is also not worth it: powdered eggs, teeth-crunching hashbrowns, and only semi-decent bacon. Definitely not what you’d expect for the price of the stay.

While the front desk team deserves praise, the hostile environment toward families, overcrowded facilities, and poor value overall made this experience incredibly disappointing. We won’t be returning, and I would not recommend this resort to families with children."
