What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Kampot Old Bridge, or Rainbow Bridge, a charming historical landmark with unique remaining arch designs. It offers great views of the river and town, especially at sunset and when illuminated at night. However, some sections require caution due to low heights.
"Rainbow Bridge
The bridge is well known among local people as the Old Rainbow Bridge. The bridge was built to span Kampong Bay River and connect Kampot's mainland east bank to Troey Koh on the west bank The bridge could be seen from Khmer Governor's Pan Yung (Khmer Krom) residence and was built between 1923 and 1925. The bridge was destroyed on the evening of 16 June 1971 during the civil war but was rebuilt some years later to carry pedestrians and motorcycles. The adhoc repairs obscured much of the original design and only two spans of the five sections of rainbow arches remain to this day."

"there’s 4 styles on a single bridge hehe, walked over it to see the views from both the sides. It gets unsafe in some areas of the bridge as it is not even half as tall as a short person. Take care while walking here!!"
Miyo Danzel
"Also called the Rainbow Bridge, this is one of the connections between the Eastern and Wetern sides of Kampot. Best viewed from the paved walkway on the eastern side, and south of the bridge.
Safe travels,
