What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Olympic Stadium Ebimpé Abidjan is widely praised for its modern, world-class design and impressive facilities, making it a significant landmark in Côte d'Ivoire. Visitors appreciate its affordability for general access and its role as a key venue for major sporting events like AFCON. However, some have encountered significant challenges with entry and crowd management during high-profile matches, leading to frustrating experiences.
"Had a very terrible experience here during the AFCON 2023 final match. Even though we had tickets and arrived at the stadium at least 45 minutes before kickoff, the Ivorian police did not allow us to enter the stadium. They even threw teargas at us. You can see the pictures of the tear gas in my post. Later on, we were informed that we could not enter the stadium because the president had entered and all doors were closed. This was the most useless and ridiculous explanation I could hear from an adult security officer expected to be mentally sound. Anyways, the powerful arm of the state prevailed and made our tickets useless."
