The affordable admission and friendly staff add to the positive experience, making it a favorite spot for many. Some visitors note that the art can be abstract, which might not appeal to everyone.
"Really beautiful spot. There were 3 exhibits we went too and each one was just as great as the next. I particularly enjoyed the upstairs classical art and modern art wings. What do you guys think is represented in the photos attached?"

"Wonderful art museum. There were two exhibits when we visited today: Emil Stoychev on the first level and Stefan Gatsev on the second floor with dozens of paintings by each artist. Both exceptional in their own way. As we were leaving the museum, my husband offered to take a photo of a husband, wife and their adult daughter who were standing outside. Turns out that it was the artist, Emil Stoychev, with his wife and daughter!! The artist said that he was 90 y/o but certainly didn't look it. Mr. Stoychev's work was quite unique and a bit odd but he's a master of color. His exhibition will be at the museum until May 18. Stefan Gatsev's communist style art was well done and will be there until May 25. The small admission fee to the museum was well worth it. We will stop by this art museum whenever we are in Sofia."

"Favourite spot to visit in Sofia. The art exhibitions change and are always mesmerising with the first floor for more conventional art and the second for more abstract projects. A lot of Bulgarian artists I have not known until then were showcased. Very friendly staff"
