Reviews Summary

Visitors find the National Transport Museum to be an incredibly affordable and engaging experience, particularly for its outdoor collection of historic trains and carriages that can be explored from the inside. While descriptions are only in Bulgarian, the hands-on nature of the exhibits and the helpful staff make it a worthwhile visit for history buffs and families alike. Some visitors have encountered unexpected closures, so checking hours beforehand is advised.

"I have to say that for 5leva(2.50e) it was definitely worth it. The museum itself has ouside part, where are located the locomotives and inside part where is written about history and some exemplares(only in bulgarian). The lady was very nice, she explained me everything inside for free but I left her dome tip. I was worried to go there after reading some negative reviews(maybe in summer time when there are lot of people and she is there alone can be tricky), but right now it was perfect. I would rather skip yesterday National museum in Veliko Trnovo where was basically only the was figurine and guide was 40 levas(20e), and there was not too much explained about the history. Plus nobody charge you any extras to enter to vagon(it was maybe bad luck or what) hahah."

"Unfortunately the museum was closed (I guess for maintenance?). There was no information anywhere except a little glued piece of paper to the entrance. We travelled a lot and we've very excited to see it, as big train fance but...."

Bulgarian Traveller

"Two amazing ladies guided us through the museum. They provided us with information for the locomotives outside and we even got to see the wagon that Mithatt Pasha was travelling with and also King Boris the first.
We loved that place and the service.
It was very cheap for what we got from it."
