"Great historical place on the entrance to old town"
Neil Darler
"During the centuries-old existence of the city, fortress walls and facilities were repeatedly built, which made the peninsula inaccessible. The first attested settlers of the peninsula - the Thracians, began to strengthen their settlement in the 8th century BC. A fortress wall from that time was uncovered along with the gate on the northwest bank. It was built of crushed stone and mud and has been preserved at a height of about 2 meters."
