What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Via Ferrata Pedra do Baú for its incredible, intense, and thrilling experience, highlighting the spectacular views of the Serra da Mantiqueira. It's considered a must-do for adventure seekers, though a fear of heights can be a significant challenge. Some recommend guides and proper gear for safety.
"Incredible experience is definitely a must if you are looking for one of the most impressive landmarks from the countryside of the São Paulo state. We hiked the "Via Ferrata" all the up to the "Baù" (chest) stone one of the three stones to be climbed. The whole trail towards the base of the rock took around an hour, and then another one to climb all the way to the top. Roughly saying you have three options of trail, one that takes you all the way up on the main rock (Bau stone) and back (the one we did), another that also takes you there but goes around the rock and does a loop, and another one that goes to the same final point of the first one but from the opposite direction. We scheduled a local guide if a local tourism company. Besides the guidance, they also provided all the necessary equipment to be used while climbing up the rock through the metal bar steps and ladders. It's definitely a challenging experience, mostly for those slightly afraid of heights. Although any person slightly fit (shape up to date) and daring enough to defy their fear of heights should definitely go for it. To conclude, it was an incredible experience, definitely worthy, that rewarded us with an epic awesome view, pics, and memories. I'm definitely going back to try the other trails. Bonus tip: taking hiking sticks, gloves, and a hat is definitely a good call."

"Amazing views, but would recommend taking a guide or proper climbing gear if you're scaling Pedra do Baú (maybe not necessary for Bauzinho). It's possible to do it without, but a bit risky in my opinion."
